Void on Warrenty???

Void on Warrenty???
Ok i just got a 2002 TT, the dealership gave or had a 4 year warrenty on it. Im curiouse as to what kind of upgrades would cancle or screw up this warrenty? If i do anything to the engine like chips and stuff will that void the warrenty, or what about just stuff like body kits, tips smaller stuff? What if the Dealership puts in the new exhaust or chips????

Technically a mod will only void the warranty for something if it (the mod) causes the breakage.
But...... that's a big "technically"
Audi and VW like to "void" your warranty for lots of things. If you chip the car the the turbo dies, don't expect the warranty to cover it. They can and will deny the "claim."
However, they also do crazy things like voiding warranties on unrelated pieces. For example, someone here said their dealer refused to service their TT for a MIL (check engine) lamp because they had a different intake. Legally they have to prove that the mod caused the fault, but in reality you may be the one fighting for that to be honored.
Body kits, etc. are pretty harmless. I think the "safest" performance mod is an exhaust, after that you get into questionable territory. (That doesn't mean a dealer won't try to void the warranty if you have an aftermarket exhaust, however)

Feel out the dealership...Techs, that is. See if you can discreetly wander back in the shop...Find the guy who is working on a TT...Politely introduce yourself and tell him you are the proud "new" owner...etc...feel him out on mods...Like "what should I do to get a little more uuumph?...etc...you'll know pretty quick if he is mod friendly.

But even if all the techs are mod friendly it won't matter if something major needs to be fixed...
at that point its up to the regional rep and as far as I know no one has found one of those that is mod friendly.
