It is possible to reach in behind the headlights
Tough to do and you'll need good lighting to be able to do it because the gaps to work in are very small. Can you see behind the headlights? Pull the top covers off the engine bay so see better. There are two small bulbs in each light. This is very hard to explain but take a look and perhaps you'll know what I'm getting at.
You'll need to be able to reach deep enough to get your hand level with the indicator lense. If you can't reach that deep there is little point in trying further.
