Do you have to disconnect/remove the battery to remove the headlights?

just noticing the voltage warning on the HID ballasts.

I'd rather not disconnect it if at all possible!!

Anything I shouldnt do so I don't shock myself?

Either way......>

There's no power to them if the light switch is off... done this a bunch with no ill effect. Saves the hassle of resetting everthing too...I just replaced my battery without killing power to the car.....I HATE resetting that stuff!

You will be OK, just pull the connectors for the headlights.

I have a small 12V battery ....>>

I plug into the cigarette lighter that keeps the car powered!

On the Optima, the car's still apart, ut i would expect to not have to worry about it for at least 5 years.....Meebee more...
