Noob with performance questions...I just purchased a ->

180TT quatro and was wondering what mods would you all recommend to match my friends stock 96'Eclipse GSX as far as performance...I bought this car because of the AWD and looks but would like to add some power....Would a chip and exhaust be enough to be comparable? or do I need to dump a fortune? Any info would be appreciated....please don't flame about the "search" feature because I have already checked...thanks in advance..

yes.....chk suspension.....still stock???if so fix it...

I had a 95 GSX....

as I recall, stock it was 210 hp, and had pretty good low end torque. Plus, I would guess it's slightly lighter, even with the AWD, as the materials weren't nearly as substantial as the Audi. For a 180TT, you're prob looking at going at least stage 2 to get close. Strictly from my recollections of the car tho. It went pretty good when you got up on boost, and mine was stock with 17" (heavy) Borbet wheels.

Chip and exhaust will do it. Check out the Forge exhaust and either the APR, GIAC or Revo chip.

I have a 00 CQ with APR 93 oct., Bolra exhaust, and just installed...>>

Eibach Pro springs, Bilstein Sport shocks, and a full k-mac for toe and camber adjustments.

The stock 6 spoke wheels are around 32lbs. Lighter wheels would remove unsprung weight.

Other things to check are the DV, MAF, and coolant temp sensor as these things went pretty quickly.
