Default HELP! Is the top mount on struts supposed to clamp shock tower in car tightly???

I'm installing front struts right now and the large washer that goes on the top is not seating on top of the strut tower, ther is like an 1/8 inch gap while I am resting some weight on it. I'm sure that it is suppposed to "pinch" the strut tower between the lower rubber strut mount and the top large washer mount. Is the initila nut that holds the spring on not tightened down enough?? I already hit it with and impact a couple times and its just spinning the strut piston. Help is needed now!

You will need an Allen wrench to hold the strut shaft while you tighten the nut.

Default Wiggle...

If you mean there is a bit of movement yes...remember this connection (strut to body) has to move since the strut has to rotate when turning steering wheel and strut changes angles to body mount as suspension goes thru compression to release
