Need advice. Having a tranny removed next week. Should I swap the clutch while I'm at it?

The car is 225hp 2001 with about 50K on odometer.

Dealer is replacing second gear, so I might be able to use the oportunity to swap the clutch. The clutch seems to hold strong so not that there's anything wrong with it, but should I swap it anyway? Whats a good clutch for 225TT?

I would do heavy duty clutch and lightweight flywheel at the same time.

Even if the stock one is still holding pretty good? I don't plan

on racing the car, but I will most likely do a chip upgrade.

No need for mroe than stock if you are not tracking car, and not going beyond chip.

I have over 50000 and am noticing some slippage under hard ecceleration >>.

I had my tranny rebuilt around 42K and asked dealer to replace the clutch also.

They did it under warranty. You are allowed one clutch replacement while under warranty, but they will only replace it if it is worn out. So smoke the hell out of it until next week!

Of course, YMMV depending on the particular dealer.
