Default TT Pedal Eronomics

First of all I must confess that I am a Z3 owner who has always loved TT quattro roadsters. I must also confess that I have been thinking about buying a TT for a while now.

I have a quick question for you TT owners. Are there any mods available to move the throttle pedal to the left by an inch or 2? I ask because I have spent some time behind the wheel and the location of the throttle pedal is uncomfortable for me due in part to the beautiful aluminum vertical parts with the pads on them. Is there a complete pedal set that is better than stock or any other suggestions that improve pedal locations?

Thanks.

Default I have been looking for something like that, but no such mod is on the market AFAIK!

I removed the driver side pad, and that has made it bareable to drive the TT on long road trips.

Some of you guys must have really wide feet. I have never had the problem you describe.

Default There are plenty of pedal sets that will fit, including brands Abt, Sparco...

... and probably something from Forge and/or Neuspeed.

I must admit I'm not completely clear how the rubber strips on the pedals make them uncomfortable for you. Are you talking about lateral position? In that case, I'm not sure of a way to move the pedals side-to-side.

Either way: get the TT. You'll love it.

I was wearing size 10 1/2 wide shoes when I drove the car. I have never noticed that my foot size or width was a problem when driving before. I really don't think I'm a circus freak or anything. The space around the throttle and brake pedals just seems tight.

Some of you guys must just have some real narrow feet!(g)

I'm not talking about the rubber on the pedals. I'm talking about the trim piece on the vertical aluminum bits that go from the dash to the floor.

If all the pedals were moved an inch or 2 to the left that would address what I'm talking about.

Default Here is a pic that shows what we are talking about, i removed the cushioned pad on the left and that

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/51913/lightipod.jpg"></center><p>extra inch or so makes life bearable.

The salesperson thought I tore/damaged it when I returned w/ the test car and the pad was out...

Get the TT, it is the best car on the planet!
*I have been told that my opinion on this subject may be a "little" biased*

I stole the pic from the ipod thread below.

Default I'm a big guy

6'2, 200lbs, and the padded frame things have never been a problem.

I'd be inclined to think you were sitting too close to the steering wheel. Try backing your chair up some so that your leg is just slightly bent when you have pushed your clutch all the way in, then use the telescope feature of your steering wheel if you are too far away from it. You should be able to rest your hands on the 10 and 2 o'clock positions and have your elbows comfortably bent at about 120 degree angles.

I may not have gotten myself in the ideal driving position. Sort of a compromise as you still have to be able to reach the gear shift once you're comfortable.
