Do I need to get water-proof horns?

Looks like I'm looking to my 3rd set of horns. One of the originals went out so replaced with Supertone horns. Now one of those is out too. Is it just the location? Any one else have this problem?

i killed a set too... haven't installed the second set yet, though.

they really aren't in the most brilliant of places, especially if you remove the plastic that's in the lower grilles...

If it weren't such a nuckle breaker I wouln't mind so much. And I don't know that I have the time to pull the entire front end off.

could nt you mount the horns higher? I would think that somewhere behind the grille would be best.

I'm concerned that there would still be the issue of rain exposure if water is the reason they are failing. Also, basically lazy. Don't want to have to reroute all the wiring. I was hoping to use the original mounts, just find something more resilient to the weather. Maybe I should look in a boating catalog?

how 'bout modifying the mounts so that the horns don't face directly forward?

You could try a boating catalog, but I will let you know that fog horns prolly will not be effective

like Axe said, you can turn them so they dont face exactly forward - turn them 30 deg out....

I assumed that the water problem was due to a history of crossing creeks and streams ;-) not due to rain...
where do you live? india? I think it will be monsoon season in a few months
