Stratmosphere HX DV - Teardown and Drive Review - "I'm Jeff Bipes, and I approve of this review"
Here it is side-by-side to the Original Hyperboost Valve. Looks are a change, this is the Acid Blue. I like the angular edges, as it's easier to grab with a towel over the top to loosen the cap.
The knurling on the shafts will help to grab the inside of the hoses.

Of course, I took them both apart.

The outside of the piston is the same.

The differences are inside. A close look will see there is a small ring cut in the side, just above where the spring rests.
Not sure why.
Also, looking into the base, the bottom is filled in, to add some extra mass in the bulb end.

The spring is the same diameter, but has about 2 more coils. Feels stiffer.

I connected this into the TT using my "Quick Disconnect" brass fitting.

I use a right-angle compression fitting, commonly use for small water lines or air also. these fit the 1/8" fittings here. I mated a hose barb to the right angle, then use a similar male fitting on the vacuum line.

Here it is installed. It just makes it easier to take in and out.

Driving Impressions.
First of all, I have been using a std. Hyperboost Valve since last summer. It has not been recently lubed, but I have not experienced any real spikes or reason to think my valve has been sticking. When I took it apart, yes, it was dirty, but still moving OK.
Car is warmed up to temp. Hit the local expressways.
It's definitely stronger. Run-ups to red-line are stronger, firmer.
It seems to respond faster also. 3rd gear to red-line is very smooth, strong, tight to the end, same in 4th.
Cruising at 4500 in 4th is about 70+. Hitting the gas to redline is a very smooth, fast response now.
Boost holds better to the top end.
It's better than the Hyperboost base valve.
I thought the Hyperboost was better than the Forge 007 or 006 with the washer mod.
I like this new design. I'm OK on the external colors, just not me though, but I like the 'blue'.
I think they hit the high points I like here, faster response, better boost hold to the top.
I'd like to see/feel how this will work with the 'Boost Machine'.
I need my onw-way valve yet.
i just got the adjustable one
and when do you usually have to lub the DV??
every 10k miles or what??
