If my DV wasnt holding boost under high loads what would it feel/sound like?

I don't mean like a bad DV. But perhaps boost pressure just high enough to open the DV and let it vent boost when it should be holding shut

?

I'm wondering if this hiccup I get during the screech (which occurs at the peak of the problem and results in a short burst of consecutive hiccups that you can feel) is the DV not holding to the boost levels and if so would a stiffer spring or a conversion to an adjustable HB help?

I still don't know enough about turbo cars and DVs and such to diagnose all thats going on.

The way I spotted that problem with my car was when the pull wasn't consistent between drives.

It would pull great from one stop light. Then, half an hour later it seemed as if something was missing. My problem was fixed by a HyperBoost adjustable DV.

Try the washer mod or a stiffer spring. If you feel that you aren't holding boost then that is all

you need, not a whole new DV.

I got the upgrade kit, not a brand new DV.

How long has your Hyperboost been in? leaks? Dirty? needs grease?

Maybe that's where your weak link is. Take it out and check it again...and while you're at it, lube it up with Mobil 1 syn grease. You need to cut down your variables...narrow it down to the location. maybe switch the Hyperboost to stock or something other than what you have....see if you have same issues/problems.
