Default bluetooth question

Just bought a sony ericsson p900, and I want to wire the Parrot CK3000 in so that I can use the phone hands free. Problem is, I've never done electrical work on a car. Would anyone suggest I do this myself, or get someone to install it? Maybe some advice from Mr. Bipes?

Also, does anyone have the ck3000? Any comments on its performance?

Thanks in advance allz.

Default If you've never done this, take it someplace, and be specific as to what you want.

This is not real easy to do as a starter install.

What do you want the system to do?

Default I'm mainly looking for the bluetooth functions

The kit is has a unit wired to the sound system, with a microphone routed, say through the A pillar, close to your head. What I want is to be able to answer a call by pressing one button, and speak through the microphone, while listening through the car speakers. That way, I can have a hand on each paddle shifter and talk to clients on the phone

The parrot system as a bunch of voice activation and calling features which are not that important to me.

I've got the CD changer and NAV, which may affect another system being wired in.

Default Actually..

I had one for my previous phone. But it became more of a problem than a convenience. I kept taking it out of the car with me, and forgetting to bring it back to the car. I'm also a bit weary of having that much wireless activity right against my head all day, as I make/receive tons of calls in the car. But you're right, the headphones are otherwise really easy to set up and use.

Default Sony/Ericcson make a 'bluetooth' set of adapters that do just what you want.

they work with any 'bluetooth' phone

Default Yep, I've looked at them

The ericsson forum users have had some really bad quality issues with them. Generally, the sound quality seems to be less than acceptable. The parrot seems to be the grand daddy of them all, and very reliable.

I think I'll just take the TT in to a local place and have them quote me an install. Thanks much tho.
