Default What kind of tires?

I live in Texas so I don't have to worry about "winter" tires. I was wondering what Tires I should get with 19 inch FISKE Profil Forged Modular 13 rims... I am also gonna be purchasing the grand turismo brembo brakes...

What brand will be good for just in general, what im looking for is quality and longevity for the most part, do I need to figure out the measurements of the rims and all that stuff first?

If so what would the measurements be for 19" rims and what tires would you get again I stress quality and performance and longevity.

Thanks for your help =)

Default What kind of driver are you? Very aggressive?

At 19", you're limited to mostly ultra-sport compounds. Basically, if a tire is high mileage, it's no fun. LOL

Default Ide say I use max acceleration about 10 times a day...

depending on how many stop lights etc i hit, also I only usually drive for 3 days out of the week the rest of the time I stay on campus pretty much which is also where I work.
i am agressive...
so shoudl I go with fun tires? lol, ide rather have performance than longevity but i dont wanna be replacing my tires every month or so......

Default Dood, with quattro, the problem is not the acceleration-induced wear... it's cornering-induced wear.

This, you burn the shoulders of your tires before the centers... or at least, I do. Brought my tires in for rotation and all the tire store guys had to comment on how hard I drove the tires in 4K miles... LOL - that's how I drive.

Note that quattro cars are FWD until the fronts slip, then Haldex (differential) engages quattro.

High end performance tires should get you 15-20k miles depending on your driving style.

Never driven an AWD car before? Accelerating out of turns is great fun.

Default I just paid $175 per tire for Goodyear F1 GSD3s...

Bridgestone Potenza S03s are a bit more expensive, Toyo T1S I think are about the same. Michelin Pilot Sports are I think the most expensive at a bit over $200. Of course that all depends on size too. I'm running 235/40/18.

Default How are you liking them? Did you have . . .

a break-in period where they felt a little squirrely? It seems that is what many are reporting.
