torquesteer angel eyes....anyone else receive/start install yet?
Naturally, the online instructions, while detailed, still leave me in the dark (more likely to be a problem with me than the instructions..)
I'm still not convinced the kit I received is made for a TT, though it appears to be of decent quality.
I'm only planning on installing one ring; the kit comes with 2 rings, a larger and smaller one...suspiciously like the Golf/Jetta kit that's in the pics in their instructions. I assumed the larger one was for the TT's high beam, the smaller for the low beam. However, it looks like they're supposed to sit just *inside* the silver reflector, so the big ring is too big to fit inside there.
Next, I guess I have to drill into the silver reflector, but it doesn't look like the rings snap into anything very well. The two tiny nubs near the tips of the rings are supposed to hold these in place? Aren't the nubs squared off, and the hole you drill round?
Thanks for your help....do I have this all wrong? The instructions don't seem to help me here.

Is that what Eugene told 'ya? See, I sure wish they had some TT-specific instructions, 'cause in the ones on their site, (I think it's a Golf), the light housings are a bit different of course. They have you drilling through the shiny metal reflector, (at least on the Golf in the install instructions on their site) and the smaller of the two rings in the kit he sent does fit relatively well inside the high beam reflector, whereas the larger ring would fit around the outside of the high beam reflector. I haven't gotten my (newly painted) housings back to try fitting the larger ring around the outside of the reflector yet (not sure if that would fit once the black plastic/now painted housing was back in place around the lights).
So I'm really left hanging a bit, with some very expensive headlights that I have to drill into (somewhere) (maybe) to fit one of the (as yet undetermined) rings. I think maybe I should call Eugene. I'm at the folks' house for Easter today, but I"ll try to post some pics of what I'm talking about later.

Look closley you can see small holes drilled into the housings you sent off to have painted with small wire holding eyes in place. See how it fits in the housing in front of the high beam. If you drilled holes at 2,6,10 in the black housing part and used some small wires to hold in place should stay stable. If memory serves this is what TTroubl did on his. He is the first person to use the Torquesteer eyes and his car in pic. I would love to see pics as you install.
