Time for my first detail job!

Hey all,
I've had my 04 225 TT Roadster for 3 weeks now, and I want to get this thing looking top notch. Any opinions on the best products to get? I've seen some amazing pictures on this site with cars looking like they are mirrors!
On another note, the brake dust is killing me! Any suggestions on if there is a way to keep the dust from sticking to the wheel?

for products, look around on the detailing forum>>

but one good thing to start with, in my opinion, is Klasse All-in-One. Also, for your wheels, it's tough to keep them from getting brake dust all over them due to the OEM pads...but try waxing the wheels after you wash them next time...it should help a little..hope that helps.

I highly recommend the Menzerna polishes...

<center><img src="http://lz7w.com/albums/spring04/IMG_9136.sized.jpg"></center><p>Just detailed the car this weekend and use Menzerna IP and FP followed by P21S gloss enhancing paintwork cleanser and finished it up with two coats of Blitz wax. A random orbital polisher will make the work much easier. I've been using a Porter Cable 7424 for a few years now and love it.

do you use GEPC with the porter cable? i wasn't sure if i should try it or not...

currently i do pretty much everything but the GEPC and p21s wax with the PC...

Yep, grey pad and set it around 4k rpm or so...

It's impossible to do wrong. GEPC isn't too abrasive but I've found that it can take out very minor scratches when used with the PC. Mainly I use it after the Menzerna polishes to add that slick feeling back to the paint. The Menzerna polishes leave the paint squeaky clean, not at all slippery.

i should probably post this on the detailing board, as i think there were a few questions about this stuff awhile back. i used it on my dad's car recently..then didn't have time to wash it again for a couple weeks...and as claimed, the dirt/junk does pretty much just come right off!! i was pretty impressed. i wonder what it would do for wheels..the only problem, at least for me, is that you need to let it 'cure' for about 12hrs i think w/o getting anything on it...so you can't drive the car!!

Yep, sounds like it works pretty well...

the whole cure time thing is what turns me off to all of the synthetic sealants. I can wax the TT in less than an hour start to finish. It just seems easier.
