*lighting a match* the VW R32 "is the new 250hp TT without dsg..."
I wonder what the owner of "Synora TT" thinks, you own both right?<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/other/msgs/2745961.phtml">the post.</a></li></ul>

I'm not sure what the deal is with the R32's seats, but I think ALL TT seats are about as good as it gets. They are very comfortable and supportive, to my backside anyway. In terms of the 3.2's brakes, they might or might not be as good as the R32's, but they're based on the RS4 brakes and are pretty good in my opinion.
didn't leave the dealership without signing for the R32
it's hard to actually compare hp as the TT is DSG and the R32 only comes w 6spd tranny
but the folks on the R32 board seem to think vw did it because of the hp limitation on the race series vw promotes which is limited to 240
both Audi and VW indicate the same torque 236 ft lbs
loved and still love the looks of the TT
and everytime one of you guys posts a pix of a roadster, especially with the baseball glove leather interior, i drool, plain and simple
but this was going to be a toy car for me,
and the R32 felt more like a motorcycle with 4 wheels, plus 10k lighter on the wallet and could carry more
the brakes, no comparison
sorry guys
the TT's brakes are beautiful, but if i recall correctly the TT's rotors were 326mm - the R32s are 332, which isn't much, 6mm or 1/4"
and the tires are pretty much dedicated for driving like you stole it, they're goodyear F1 GSD3s - incredibly sticky with good water drainage
but not winter tires
which means a set of wheels with winter tires (but honey, we can't just park it in the winter)
it would be interesting if TTs came with a 6 spd or R32s with DSG to compare the two
suspect the R32s will have DSG next year
the last reason for swinging toward the R32 was the option of the VF supercharger
but god i love the look of the TT
so if i show up at a TT gathering, you'll know it's me - i'll be wearing a bib
Here's the <a href="http://www.divergent.org/mikes.vws/r32specs.pdf">R32 spec sheet</a> showing the 334 mm front brakes.
I couldn't find the TT 3.2's spec sheet, however here's a <a href="http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?port_code=autoweek&cat_code=reviews &loc_code=index&content_code=02992969">review from autoweek.com</a> which shows 13.15-inch front brakes (I don't quite believe the 9hp difference due to "less restrictive exhaust" though..)
So, if my math is correct, 13.15 * 2.54 = 334 mm :-)
Personally, I find the TT 3.2's brakes simply amazing - I've never set the ABS off, although I've tried braking very hard on purpose..

Great car, awesome seats, room for 4 adults (or 2 German Shepherds), ok handling (better now I've changed the suspension), ok looks, 240hp, 236lbt (although reports and dynos show same hp as 3.2 TT) and since I've driven both I'd have to agree
At the end of the day it's going to come down to taste, personal prefernce and a whole bunch of other things. My wife wanted the TT and offered me the chance to get the R32 (to play with tuning wise) an offer I couldn't refuse.
For me (at the end of the day) the price difference between the 2 (some $10-$12k) was not wort it so I got the R32.
ps: they both have the same RS4 inspired HUGE brakes
Bringing Audi to Life for Audi Fans
It came down to what I would want to drive daily and coming from an S4, the TT was not only sportier in appearance IMO, but more sophisticated, and luxurious than the R32. The R32 would have been the car I bought right out of college or if I was looking simply for a fun/track car. Oh and there is no comparison with the design. The TT is sporty and timeless, a current classic that I had to own. The swooping fast lines that personify motion just pulled me away from the obvious bang-for-the-buck advantage the boxier R32 has over the TT.
Had I been in your position, I would have likely done the same thing. Nice choice.
Oh and as for that price $$ difference, I was able to get 10% off sticker on the TT while the R32 sold at sticker. We'll see how the values hold up on each too (not a dig, I really am curious given the limited numbers of each).
