Default Dieselgeek Questions...

I am in the middle of installing the dieselgeek short shifter and I have two questions:

1. After I insert the nail into the two holes on the shifter, should the shifter be in neutral?

2. How far out, roughly, does the transmission "home" button stick out roughly when pressed in? Can I tell it's in enough when the larger chrome bracket doesn't move up and down in the neutral position?

Thanks, Ken

Default Not sure how far it sticks out....

The shifter is near neutral when the nail is in place. Then free up the cables by pulling back the black spring clips and turning them about a quarter turn so that the spring stays compressed. Then you should be able to move the large bracket up and down freely. Press in on the button while slowly sliding the bracket up and down. When the pin moves in then you're all set.

Default when you first put the nail in the shift **** itself won't be in neutral>>>

I had to move mine into where 2nd would be to get the nail to go in.

My button stuck out 1/2" when pulled out, and a bit over an 1/8th when pushed in. If you have the large chrome bracket in neutral (can move up and down) and you push the button in adn the bracket won't move up and down anymore then its in enough!

Default Funnily enough...

When I was doing this shifter linkage adjustment yesterday (due to difficulties shifting to 1st and 2nd) ... I noticed that I can't lock the transmission ... Then found out why ... there was 2" x 1½" x 1½" stone under the lever... WTF?!

Atleast I fixed all my shifting problems now ...

Practical joke by mechanics or maybe previous owner had crashed?
