Default Milltek or Remus?

Any opinions on which one I should choose for a TTCQ 225?
The price here in Europe is roughly the same for both of them, so price is not an issue. Both also come with a choice of straight through or resonated center section. And yes, I know there are more options available to you guys in the States but shipping costs for an exhaust are just too much...

Anyway, my wife gets to drive our TT the most so I guess her word counts for something... She really likes the foxes on the Remus, but on the TT the Remus sticks really out and that has caused some second thoughts... Milltek looks more OEM, but then my wife's argument is "why bother changing if it looks the same..."

So, my question and real interest is, is either one better performance wise? We've got Revo with SPS-3, Forge 007P & Samco intake hose so far...

Remus tips look awful IMO. Milltek 100mm tips looks perfect. Personally I went with APR and love it.

Default I have the milltek 100mm high flow

I really like it and it sounds really nice. I have the non resonated so its boomier than the resonated version. since your wife is the main driver, make sure she is okay with the extra noise.

I never heard the remus in person.

Default Yes, Remus has center parts for TTQ...

For some reason they don't seem to be available in the States.

In Europe they are available.
1) 045299 0300 - Front silencer
2) 045299 0000 - Racing tube instead of the front silencer (not EC-approved)

I tend to agree to a certain extent... I like the foxes but don't like the hole design and IMO it comes too far out. I liked the older Remus design a lot more...

The main reason why Remus is still an alternative to me is that it has all the German TÜV and European Union e-approval documentation with it, which makes sure its legal over here... without the documentation the wehicle inspection guys might test the noise level and if its not within a certain tolerance level...

Default Milltek>>>

remind the little lady that looks are only part of the package. Sound should be thrown into the mix as well...cause if she does not like the tone, she will probably want you to remove it. IMHO

Default Some info on a new Milltek system from the UK TT forum

Check with your local distributor to see which version they will be getting you. This thread indicates that there has been a change in the sound and also a new bracket added to facilitate lowering the exhaust when tracking the car which for many will not be an issue. Good luck.

New TT Milltek Mk5 - for 4wd turbos
