anyone know how to take out the CD stacker unit ( the whole thing )

You need to remove the trim piece behind the driver's seat to get access to the changer.
Here are two great writeups with pics on how to install the changer. The second one has a pic of the backside of the panel so you can see where the clips are that hold it in place.
