Default Proper way to jack up car and put on jackstands?

I have searched and found some topics, but couldn't seem to get a straight answer.

Can anyone help, I need to remove the front bumper this weekend.

THANKS!

Default I use the rubber pads to lift the car while...

placing a jackstand under one of the mounting points for the lower control arm on each side.

I have not looked under the car yet - are the pads already there or do I have to buy them?

Default You need to jack where the metal is pinched & protrudes out NOT on the rocker panel...

If you do it on the rocker panel IT WILL COLLAPSE!Some of the under coating comes off(the pinched part) if you continually do it.I find this preferable to the other spots but I'm sure the suspension is heavy enough to jack the car up also.If I'm getting under the car I usually use two floor jacks & 4 jack stands. I know I'm a ***** but I'm an alive *****!

Default I use the rails where the OEM jack would go and put the jack stands under the donuts.

Yea, my rail gets bent up a bit, but I did buy a big yellow thing that goes on my jack that has slots cut in it for the rails.

With 4 VW/Audi cars, and summer/winter tires, I do alot of lifting of cars around my house.

This is how I do all of them.

Default I actually had the hard plastic piece come out of one of mine...>

The rubber is just there to keep the jack from slipping. All the weight seems to go through a ~3/4" diam plastic piece.

I wouldn't use the donut for the stands though. I don't think a stand puts pressure in the right place. Alas I'm @ work, so I can't show you where I jacked up mine. I think it was the frame rails in front, can't recall in back.
