Default MAF install advise desperately needed....Just purchased....
the VW part from ECS Tuning @ $89.00.
Any advise on install?.......re-set ECU?
Also, there is talk about removing the screens I guess for more "poop"? Is there downside to this (always a bad with a good).

Any help much appreciated!

Sure, downside of removing the screens is the "poop" will pop your turbo vanes.

Default Got tools?
I modified an existing bit in a set of Security bits...these were from a $5 set of bits. The bit is an existing 'pitchfork' type.I ground down the sides so it would fit inside the 5-sided opening, and over the pin that sticks out.

Works great.

fortunately my collection is complete w/TR6 tinkering but I'll need to biuld those. tks

At least with the stock filter. I have mine out with the K&amp;N in the TTDA

check to see if the 2 screw heads on the MAF are the '5' point security type
