Shine racing is a big believer in this.
The center of gravity of the vehicle can be thrown off as can the suspension geometry. TT's are a bit better because of the front spindle design, which lends itself to lowering a bit more before you lose your suspension geometry.
That's it for the front... as for the back.. it's not a true coilover anyway. You lose travel by having an adjuster in there, and the stock springs are progressive rate.. for a reason.. the aftermarket coilover ones are mostly linear rate springs.
