Default I've lost my boost :(

I was out driving today and coming out of a corner I lost boost and it never came back. A bit later the CEL came on and when I VAG'ed it I got:

17536 Long Term Fuel Trim Mult System too lean Bank 1, 35-00.

It felt like when my bosch DV died so my Forge was popped open and serviced, no change. I also found <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/316887.phtml">this thread</a> and sure enough the second field is 21.9% so I think I've got a bad MAF. I unplugged the MAF and drove it around the block and still no change so I think I have a bad MAF and a boost leak. I can hear the turbo spool at around 3k rpm but seems like all the boost is going somewhere else. No visible tears or cracks in any of the vacuum hoses topside. Anywhere specific I should look?

I've got about 54k miles and the car is chipped (OCT), has a TTDA, Forge DV and APR exhaust. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated... I miss my boosht

Default There comes a time in everyone's TT experience..>>

When a CEL pops up! Sounds like a MAF John. Did you clear the codes and re-set the ECU? During early BAMM experiments, you might recall mine triggered a lean code cel when the long term trim exceeded 22%. Lost boost as well. Do an ECU reset, and get adaptation maps back to 0. Probably a failing MAF that ratcheted it up to that level....

Default But will a bad MAF cause total loss of boost?

I thought unplugging the MAF was supposed to sort of fix things. I'll try unplugging it again and clearing the faults and see if that does it. Will be nice if that's all it is!

Default Long term trim over 22% will.......

That's why you need to do a reset. Bet boost will come back.

Default You should spray and clean your MAF. I had the same DTC come up when

mine went south. I cleared the DTC and was constantly going into limp mode even driving the car like grandma. I pulled the MAF, sprayed it clean with electronics cleaner...poped it back in and the CEL never came back. Its been about a month. Then 2 weeks ago I put in a BAMM...no CELs.

conclusion: dirty MAF

It was causing it the read the air/fuel differently...giving me even more psi boost...thus going into limp mode.

Default hell,I was driving around at TT-east wth no boost almost the entire time...till I replaced the MAF..

robertt cleared my codes a few times,but it had to be changed(luckily I had a VW maf lying around).......

Default I found my boost!!!

I so love this forum Unplugged the MAF, cleared the codes and the car is back in its happy place. So should I run with no MAF until I get a replacement or should I run with no boost?
