Default There are a lot of styles of Blizzak and other snowies out there...

Rich, I know you've got them. I'm going to be doing a lot of driving in the winter this year and need a reliable way to get to work and not be late. Fortunately, the road I take is also a main route to get to the county sheriff post, but I still don't trust my all-seasons that much. I checked out tirerack and there are quite a few... I'd like to try and stay on the cheaper side so I'm looking at the Blizzak LM-22, Pirelli 210 Snowsport or maybe the Pirelli Winter Carving.

I'm also looking at finding something that would give me a decent amount of performance in the winter as all. Anyone have any word on these snow carving tires? Otherwise I think the snowsports might be my tire of choice.

Suggestions?<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&url=%2Ftires%2FCompare1.jsp%3FstartInd ex%3D0%26amp%3BvehicleSearch%3Dtrue%26amp%3Bwidth% 3D225%2F%26amp%3Bratio%3D45%26amp%3Bdiameter%3D17% 26amp%3Bsortcode%3D49650%26amp%3Bperformance%3DW"> http://ww

Default The Michelin Pilot Alpine 2's got excellent reviews>>>>

and they are V RATED....hehehehe....was going to do the Dunlop Wintersport M3's, but heard they were a quick sellout....that would be another good choice. FWIW

Default Where do you live? I would want at least H rated- good choices are Pilot Alpins ...

I have a set on my TT and this will be my 4th winter with them. I also have pilot alpins PA2s on my MB E300 and my allroad. They drive more like an all season tire in the dry but provide extra snow/ice traction. Wintersport M3s have gotten great feedback but I got better deals on the PAs or I would have bought them for my allroad. Many forum members are real hot on Nokians but I find availability to be a minus for me, although they are probably an excellent tire. I've found the pilot alpins and surely the M3s to not be as squirrely as some snows. With AWD I'm willing to give up a little snow performance in favor of increased dry road performance. My TT with the alpins is only limited by snow depth- it's allmost impossible to break it loose in any kind of snow conditions. Shop local or the on-lines (tirerack, tiresavings, discounttiredirect) and see what you can find.

Default anyone run Pzero Nero M&S for winter?

Sure I'm in MN, but I just don't think I'll need a pure snow tire. Here in StP/Mnpls, they do plow the roads..... Worse case I'll have 6 or 8 days where I actually will be driving on snow.

I'm actually thinking this for my 03 A4Q. I hope to run my P6's this winter, run my summer tires, then pick up Nokian WRs for my TT next winter.

thoughts?

Default What is this "snow" everyone keeps talking about?

Is there some kind of tire that helps you drive after snorting coke?

Well, don't buy 'Arctic Alpins', they suck after more than one season.

Default zero neros just started showing up in spring so it will take a while for feedback...

I put them on my TT as my summer tires (wanted quiet and better wear) . I might wait until the first snow before putting my winter wheels/tires on just to see how they do.
