The Riso carbon fiber cover is intended for people that can iso mount their radio and allow the top cover to close.
So, you first need to buy a radio that can be iso mounted if you're to approach that type of finish. I already ordered a kenwood kvt-815 setup that can do that. Oddly it's the same line as riso's:

I have a design ready that would replicate this trim ring in 2mm aluminum, mirror polished and clear coated- ostensibly like the cover itself, or close.

I like the look of that radio alot but what about nav..Been going between that one and the pioneer
AVIC for a while now. I do think tom I will order those parts though to make it fill in the din area from dealer.

Kenwood's nav has full maps on board. No swapping.
You can get the 815 + nav on fleabay for about $1580 shipped. The Kenwood nav doesn't require swapping, it's a fully contained external dvd system that has full maps already on board. Big plus in my book, although trying to find a review of the gps in operation is tough.

I have played with the kenwood nav screen at local auto store and very nice I must say..Im going to
look into that. I do have some concerns about the install, but when looking into local audio store stated the install if I brought a unit to them would be 150. I might do that to save some headache.

Why I chose kenwood.
1. Iso mount can be used to allow the hood to close.
2. Maps on board, no swapping. AVIC swaps.
3. Touch screen can operate NAV. Apline 300 can't do that.
4. Touch screen & unit work with music keg- plop in a 20gb cart and be done with a ton of mp3's. The alpine ipod adapter is a *horrible* piece of crap, it takes forever to scroll through albums, etc, and has a limit. It also has terrible UI for finding songs. (AVIC gets an ipod adapter in spring of next year.)
5. Sirius radio add on for $90 w/ micro antenna. Antenna goes in dash vent w/ gps and it's stealth. Sirius gets Howard Stern in 13 months, too.
