I wouldn't say disappointed, it just states that it might not be quite as effective

since it uses one actuator on the 6 clutches rather than one for each.

Porsche has in line engine (like every US audi except TT) so uses different..

system than tranverse engines. TT is haldex (google their site) just as volvo, new ford 500 and others. In line systems tend to give constant power to all 4 wheels (torque varies and can be distributed as needed) while haldex is front wheel drive unless parameters are met that shift power to the rear unit. Newer 911 AWD system is no where near as complex as the one in the 959

The PSK system in the 959 split torque even in no-slip conditions and was variable. Still the only AWD system to do that. Newer 911s use a simpler viscous coupling with fixed split torque.

Bottom line: Porsche's AWD system is constant AWD with a fixed split torque whereas the Haldex AWD used in the TT is mainly FWD until wheel slip is detected in the rear wheels.
