Default Dog Bone mount installed! Wow! What a differnce...>>>

Got the d-bone mount installed yesterday, and it is a big differnence from stock. Car has an attitude now. Low end growl like it has a louder exhaust in lower gears, which I don't mind too much. Feels like I am driving a race car. Car seems more controlled over the bumps and drives straigther and smoother...(can you say less engine movement?). I am impressed. Feels like a different car. Can hardly wait to put a set of sway bars on it now! Also had a timing belt/water pump job for the tune of $572. Great price and great mechanics. Thank you Matrix

Default Excellent! I was surprised by the harder edge sound too

but otherwise same results as you. Shifting is crisper and front end feels tighter. Not bad for a $15 part

Default I seem to remember there are 2 mounts; a front and rear...

Did you do both or only the rear?

Default yes, and yes. Does feel like it's lugging....

But I think that is due to the false sense that the vibration is taking from the power. I don't believe that. I rather think the sound/vibration tricks the mind, or feel of the acceleration or decreased sense of. But yeah, the vibrations is definately (underlined) there at lower revs. It is kind of fun that way though. Car feels mean like a wild boar.

Default Jeff Bipes posted a good install pic of the dog bone mount

Calling Mr Bipes, calling Mr. Bipes. At any rate, the mount that I had done are the two arms (one on each side of the engine)on the underside of the engine. I don't know what you are referring to about the rear mounts. I assume it is the transmision mount. Don't do that one. I hear that the vibration is just too much to handle.

Default two arms? Most folks have been getting the rear engine mount done

There are three bushings on this mount, 2 of which get replaced as part of this upgrade (the back two)

Here are the three bushings, the round one is not used.

And here is the mount. The two bushings in the end on the right are replaced.
