It only need's to be done in conjunction with..>>
My BAMM mod Mark. The reason it's needed is the bigger MAF housing, while pulling in more air, has a lower velocity which screws with the MAF signal and fueling. The 4 bar gets the fuel back up to where it needs to be....That's why Peeps are asking about it.

I pushed and pushed to get in place, but no go.
I grabbed a big *** c-clamp and slowly applied an even pressure to the top and bottom and then slipped in the retaining key. Took 2 minutes with the c-clamp.

OK, that helps a lot.
I haven't been on here as much lately so I missed those threads. A tech I know who drives a GTI told me that he would do this mod for any 1.8t because they will run better regardless of other mods. Any comment on that? Does it sound to you like it makes sense?
