TT 3.2 Hesitation when shifting into 2nd

TT 3.2 Hesitation when shifting into 2nd

This has happend at least 8 times. When my car shifts from 1st to 2nd at redline the car will hesitate for a full second. This has occurred in sport shift, paddleshifter, and regular drive mode. Can anyone help? I am going to call Audi tomorrow, I will keep you informed.

Only time I get hesitation is when i'm creeping up in 1st gear... idles too low or something>>

I'll be honest though, I haven't had my car anywhere near the redline yet. Have you tried shutting ESP off? Sounds wierd, but who knows...

in regular drive mode how are you even getting it to redline in 1st?

I had a similar issue recently in Sport mode. It seemed to get stuck near redline. I haven't seen the problem since though. I thought maybe it was some weird interaction between high rpms and the "kickdown" feature of the throttle. Something like it was about to upshift but the throttle crossed the kickdown point so it missed the shift and let it get up to redline.

For the most part it happens in Sport shift or paddles. You might be right, The first time it happend I was in paddle shift mode, and I thought that was what happens when you don't shift before redline and it automaticly shifts for you into 2nd. They will probably have to adjust that. I am bringing in my car tomorrow, I will let you know what they say. It doesn't happen every time and I am sure they will want to see what I am talking about.
