Default Added TTDA to APR chipped 225 = -3 pounds less boost

Got my TTDA from TTSchwing and installed it ... Looks and sounds perfect ...

So I get out to drive and it doesn't feel much (or any?) different. No surprise having just bolted it up on a 65 degree day but at least nothing bad happened :-)

Now the surprising part is that when I check the boost gauge I'm only boosting to 15psi (1.1 bar) rather than 18-19psi (1.4 bar) ... Felt as good as before prior to looking at gauge but now I'm not so sure - may be psychological ...

So I set the APR chip back to stock mode to check and surprise, surprise ... I'm only getting like 8-10 psi (0.7-0.8 bar) rather than 14-15 psi (1.0 bar) before.

I'll check all the obvious stuff on the weekend - make sure the air hoses aren't hard up against anything and blocked, check I haven't knocked any sensors loose, etc ...

But in the mean time, has anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions?

Put your stock airbox back in and see if that takes care of the problem. TTDA could be defective.

Default Not Normal, but here's some suggestions Mike...>

Anytime you change anything The ECU needs a certain amount of time/miles/cycles to rebuild adaptation maps to optimize the changes. It is not normal to lose boost with a TTDA install. If you have some components that are deteriorating (like a MAF), the increased flow could accelerate that. My suggestions are: Pull your MAF element and clean it, and do an ECU and throttle body re-set. That'll get all your adaptation maps back to "0" Also make sure you don't have any falult codes lingering...

Steve, could the same hold true for a timing belt replacement?

Default No, absolutely not....>

That's just a fixed, mechanical relationship. There is a sensor though. Performance off? Could be off a tooth...

That's pretty silly suggestion, it's just a filter in a box, what can go wrong?
