So my wife comes home is all like "What's that burning plastic smell?" And I'm all like:
)So I got the A-Pod remolded to fit the pillar bettah. I'm toying with the idea of either a)painting it gray to match the pillar, or b)trying to secure the cloth material from the pillar or headliner to cover the pod that way.
I'm liking the look, but just not in black. It's more stealthy that way, but I don't like the "stuck-on" look that it makes against the gray.
So does anybody just happen to have any gray interior cloth laying around? I've got a call in to someone I know who's parting out a car, but so far no luck.
TIA!
I actually haven't worked out the wiring part yet, but I'm sure hiding them behind the pillar pod will be the easiest part of the whole install.
And believe it or not, the pod wedges perfectly in between the dash and the pillar with no vibration, sagging or leaning at the top. I test fitted it today and drove around running a bunch of errands with the gauges mounted and it's flawless--and this was before I re-molded it to fit even snugger. So, that's the beauty of this, there's no gluing or stapling or drilling of any kind.
I'm really dreading the tapping into the boost and 02 sensor lines etc. I really hate the idea of splicing a perfectly good working line, but it has to be done.
Good luck to you!
