Airbag Module for a 2001 TT

I've been told I need a new airbag module on my 2001 TT. Apparently a pricy item. Is this a job for a do-it-yourselfer or do I need the pro?

if it is a component failure, it might be under some extended warranty coverage for safety related..

components.

mine is dead too. replacement s/b easy, I believe it's under the center console>>

though I haven't bothered with it yet. Audi may be willing to step up and do it for you since it's a safety item but they're under no obligation if your warranty is out. I will pony up the $ & fix it myself to avoid having to deal with a stealership.
