For the past two years, I have searched high and low for a way to install an integrated hands free cell phone system in my TT. Finally I succeeded!
As my TT did not come with any kind of cell phone prep, everyone told me there was no way to do it. However, I noticed on the back of the Bose Concert radio that there were three connectors - "phone mute", "tel +" and "tel -" - that must be useful for something.
The trick is to use a hands free set that has "line outs" that can be used instead of a separate speaker. The two that I found were the Motorola IHF1000 and the Parrot CK3000 and CK3100. I settled on the Parrot CK3100 (www.driveblue.com) which has a tiny LCD screen for caller ID etc.
The Parrot comes with a wiring harness that would probably work with non-Bose systems. For the Bose system, you cannot use the supplied wiring harness. You need to connect 6 wires: 3 for power (ground, always on 12 volts, and ignition 12 volts) and 3 to the back of the radio (tel mute, tel + and tel -).
Power connections are under the instrument panel - #75 is ignition switched, #30 is constant, ground connection is right under the steering wheel.
The Parrot CK3100 works with any Bluetooth phone. When a call comes in, the radio displays "phone" and you hear a ring through the speakers. Push a button on the LCD display and the conversation comes through the car's speakers. Even in the Roadster with the top down, there is very little echo or background noise. Best of all, it does not destroy the TT's looks - all you see is the tiny LCD control panel (about 1" tall by 2" wide). It works even when my cell phone is in my pocket.

Any specs on the line out voltage of the Parrot? Might be able to adapt others high level outputs.

 

The display unit is silver & grey - not a perfect match for the TT but pretty good.
The display itself lights up blue, with red and green telephone buttons below it.
I installed on the left dashboard, below the vent and above the light switch.

I will check them out. I have been thinking of getting a bluetooth phone, but my only hold up was integrating it in the car. Now I know it can be done. Where did you mount yours at in the TT?

 

and the V60i phone. But now I want to upgrade my phone to a smartphone. Now I know I can do it without giving up the convenience of truly integrated hands-free feature.
