Got my MAF changed...still slugish. Anyone had success running VW MAF with Steve's stg3?

Default Got my MAF changed...still slugish. Anyone had success running VW MAF with Steve's stg3?

I'm getting all the parts for stg3 this week, but I don't want to go and buy the VW MAF if its not going to work with all the mods. I've read that people had problems running vw maf on modded TTs.

on my 3rd vw maf now (2 gone in less than 2000kms). am trying a refurbed OEM maf next

Default I've got a brand new OEM put in today under warranty.I'll VAG it tongitht but it doesn't seem right

based on my ride back from dealer. Only holding at 11psi with a stock chip.

Default That doesn't sound totally out of line...>>>

I think mine holds 12 in stock mode last time I tried it. Try an ECU re-set and TB adaptation. Fixed issues yesterday for one of my stage 2 guys he was boosting 9-10, now up to 14 (stock). I'll bet the dealer didn't do this...

It will take a little while for the fuel maps to come back in line too if you're replacing a known bad MAF (unless you do a re-set)

A VW MAF has been in my car for a few years now (01)....Not all cars work with them though it seems. The refurbs are cheap now so seems little need to do this for the $20 difference.

Default why not just get an reman/refurb OEM MAF??>>>

they are only $69 from ECS

Default I'll give reset a shot. Last time I tried it with my VAGTool, I couldn't get it to reset.

Do you happen to have exact instructions? Maybe I'm doing it wrong. My last dealer experience tells me that they didn't reset anything.

Default Dealer replaced failed maf with brand new stock. I've read about people having problems even with

the brand new ones. I figured I'd give the VW one a shot, but first I'll try the reset as per Steve's suggestion.

Default Don't use the VAG....>>

You need to completely power down the ECU either by pulling its plugs or doing a battery disconnect. After re-connecting, turn the key on, door open (don't start) and the throttle body will re-set itself. Despite people saying they can re=set and clear the fuel maps with the vag, it doesn't work on my car (older VAG-Com). Power down will do it though...
