Rear Brake knocking

Rear Brake knocking
Took off my rear brakes to paint the calipers (mistake number one).
I thought I put them back on correctly (mistake number duex).
I did notice on the driver's side that the inside pad had a spring broken but I didn't replace it (mistake number 3)
Now the car sounds and feels like there is a flat tire. Is this the result of the broken spring or is it something else.
Please advise (let's not make this mistake number 4...hehehe). If it is the brake pads, how much should I expect to pay and where should I get them...can't wait to get over net due to this Audi thing in Seattle this weekend
