Default Help Me Decide!!!!

I have loved the TT for years and I now have a chance to get into one. Before I jump into one I would like to get more infomation on how often it will need repairs and about how much they might run. Also any other infomation on the TT that might help me decide would be great.

Thank You

Default Get one!!!

I had my 2001 for 4 years and it ran with only 2 little problems: the flasher relay and drivers door sensor went bad. I drove it almost 60,000 miles in that 4 years through summers, mountain snow, and everything else.

I believe in the TT so much, I sold my 2001 to a good friend of mine and it's still going strong, as expected.

I have had 2 cars since I sold my 2001 TT and now I'm buying another one because it was such a great car. Small and compact, fun to drive, easy to tune up, and best of all, has a fantastic community surrounding and supporting it!

I encourage you to buy one and get involved in the community. I've had a lot of fun on group drives meeting the other ethusiastic people.

Default Keep in mind that problems seem exaggerated on a board like this...

this is where people come to find solutions to problems. There are some potentially expensive repairs but for the most part the problems are pretty cheap to fix and there's a great community here with lots of experience to help diagnose issues. If you can get a used car with remaining warranty or that has the CPO 100,000 mile warranty then that would be some nice extra insurance. Also, if you can get the service history before you buy that would be a huge plus. It seems that some cars are problematic, lots of recurring problems that never seem to go away. The good thing is that there are alot of TTs on the used market so you don't have to settle for a potential problem car. If you're buying new then no worries, the Audi warranty is really quite good.

You only live once and even if you own the TT for a short time it will be well worth it.

Default Agreed. I'm at 107k and only recently had an issue where I was left stranded

car lost it's engine speed sensor at TT East.... a $98 part! Otherwise, besides replacing the diverter valve a few times and doing the suspension and other maintenance items, it's been mostly trouble free.

Default Any foriegn car can be expensive to have things done...Just an oil change on BMW can set you back

big so I would suggest extended warrenty if you can and I would GO FOR IT

Default Well said. My TT is at 64K and other than a couple odd>>

problems that didn't cost me too much to fix, it's been a very reliable car, as most of my other Audis have been.

Default All depends on what you're looking to get out of the car. It is not as reliable as say toyota or

honda, but that doesn't mean that its BAD. IMHO the car is worth the extra problems when compared to vehicles deemed as more reliable. Just get one with original warranty and slap extended on it. I got my car CPO'd and never looked back. I am very very happy with TT, especially after modding it.
