Water Injection: Theoretical Thoughts
So using water injection lowers combustion chamber temps and reduces detonation: Kinda like 100oct fuel. So theoretically, if one were to run water injection, one could use 100oct maps to capitalize on the lowered detonation which would allow for more timing advance. Correct? If so, then a chip such as the Dahlback chip, which optimizes maps on its own for 100oct fuel, would essentially see the lowered detonation and chamber temps and advance timing/boost/whatever else it does when it sees 100oct fuel, right?

in theory, that should be about right...
I think the Dalbach chip is programmed to run really rich at high rpms, which would be unnecessary with the water injection. you'd probably have to mess around with water injection settings and nozzles until you found the right match for your setup. but doesn't dalbach offer free upgrades for your mods?

You still have to manually crank the timing with Dahlback for that level...
but however, this should theoretically work to once the point there is no timing correction, more timing could be dialed in for power.
I think however, that it only adds a few octane points. This WI may not be best for increased peak power, but more for keeping all of the power you have.

several clarifications
water injection will not give you 6-9 octane as you suggest, nor is it in any way equivalent to higher octane fuel.
what you might get to is a 94 octane map running on 91 octane...with little adaptation..i.e. pullbacks...block 22 and 23
