so car died, jumped it, let it run for 30minutes, turned it off and it wouldn't start again...it'll click once maybe 2x but it wont crank...
So is either the battery dead or is it another gremlin...
old TT went through 2 batteries and when they died they wouldnt even start when the batteries went..
any feedback?

Jeesh! Never had any battery issues with either of my TT's.
Do you have any aftermarket accessories (amp, stereo, etc.) that might drain or strain the battery? Wonder if a marine battery can be fit into a TT? They generally are heavier duty.

My battery died a month ago, and after I put the new one in, I find out that....
the brake lights were stuck on and that's what drained the battery.......So I bought the $9 switch from VW, and replaced it......Wished I woulda known that before I dropped $100 on a battery....Oh well, at least I have a good Die Hard in there that'll last a long time.

pretty sure it's the battery
drove 40 miles home after jumping it again and made it///no lights ac etc but I made it...if it was the altenator I doubt I could have made it since the battery was already toast...

my battery went the day before TT East - or so I thought. All the usual symptoms....
of a dead battery or at least a low one. Turns out, it was just a precursor to my engine speed sensor going which kills all power to the car. That is an intermittent issue as the car started up again after a hard disconnect. Wonder if you have some sort of gremlin like that - not a constant but just a once in a blue moon loose connection or something? Doubt it's the issue but it's worth checking out as it's a rarity! A VAG would see a fault code for a sensor out of spec though if that were the case.
