please advise > screech from engine bay...
happens for 1 second on every start. started when it got cold out but, i think that is inconsequential. i initially thought it was the serp belt, but i changed it and the tensioner 3 months ago.
sounds is coming from the starter area.

Andrew, I'd still suspect the belt, and maybe more so since it was done fairly recently; could it be a pulley bearing, or something that got damaged when the bumper took a hit?

try turning the climate control off
Don't know just what it is but sometimes when it's cold I get a squeal for a few seconds after start up. If I pull the climate control **** out the squeal stops. I have heard of other TTs with this noise, but have not heard a diagnosis. Mine does it very rarely I have not heard it yet this season.

eh? never had this issue on my TT.... if it's the starter, just replace it....
unless you feel like rebuilding it yourself, which i have to say, isn't something i'd wanna bother with. Reman starter from sasponline.com is $117.09.
