3.2 2006 TT Coupe...Need Advice
I am wanting to puchase a coupe with a back seat capable of holding a child seat (I have a 19 month old, but no plans for any more kids).
I have seen some discussion here about child seats in the TT coupe and apparently, it is a possibility.
Other cars I have considered are the 05 Mustang GT (can't bring myself to do it), Infinity G35 (didn't do it for me), e46 M3 used (just hard to find the right one that I can afford).
Don't like the RX-8 and the 350Z does not have a rear seat.
I think it comes down to the TT 3.2, the used M3, or possibly still the Mustang.
I just wondered if anyone had any advice? I have certainly not been reading great things here lately about the TT, but I can't help but think it would be a nicer car than the mustang? I love the interior and the styling of the TT.
I have found a 3rd party leasing site and the most that I can afford is 39K. That is the exact invoice price for a 3.2 coupe with premium package which is what I would be looking for.
Is it realistic to try to buy a 2006 3.2 at invoice?
Also, does the 3.2 engine have timing belts or timing chains?
Thanks to all!
Craig
I recommend buying a year old Certified Audi TT 3.2 Coupe that has low mileage and the Audi Certified warranty.
The 3.2 TT has DSG and is quite smooth and relatively quick. The 3.2 engine has a timing chain, not a timing belt.
It is realistic to try to negotiate a price for a new or used 3.2 TT. Since 2006 models are both new and not available in some states like California and some NE states, they may be less easy to purchase at a discount.
I have had three TT's and I consider my 2004 3.2 TTQC the best of the three.
Also, my Borzoi, Lara, fits in the back seat on her rug or in the passenger seat with the air bag turned off, also on her rug.
As for the car, this year my TT hit 86K and I started to get rid of it. NOTHING out there felt as good, and I don't own a 3.2!
And for the price, This time of year, you should get a good deal on a 05 or 06 since its kind of slow.
Good luck, their great cars.
The best deal would be a CPO '05. Nothing beats a 6 year 100k warranty, especially since the TT is unchanged for 2006.
