Well it's official my hardtop is installed!!! I purchased it off eBay back in March complete with mounting kit and its finally all here. I can't thank the seller enough since he originally didn't want to ship it at all, let alone out of the UK. It's been quite a story...first it missed its boat and was delayed a month, then day it was suppose to arrive I rented a truck only to have the shipping container quarantined because of some else's stuff, so I had to drive back the next week (six hour trip each time) to get it. Next I receive the top and the mounting it has been removed by customs or someone busy hands, and it was only wrapped in a single layer of bubble wrap - I'm still amazed it wasn't destroyed. (No, seller did not send it that way from the UK, someone tampered with it) Insert insurance delays, part availability - last month mounting kit arrived, but Audi has sent two left hand side brackets and no right. (Good old Audi Dealers) Sometimes you just can't win. But now that its all here and installed if I could do it again I would in a heart beat!!!! The fit is amazing and the quality/finish is top notch. You will not be disappointed. Driving down the road you'd never know it was a roadster, the cockpit is quiet and the wind noise from the canvas top is obviously gone. In my opinion the best mod I could buy. This is getting long so if anyone has any questions feel free to ask away....

The cloth top is black anyways so it's not like it's out of place. I actually like the contrast.

 

Leave it....from the pics, it looks great this way--just like the softtop.
