I have seen heaven...and it ain't the freakin' shooting disk breakage.
The Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, Illinois on Highway 41 has a Cayman S that the factory flew in from Germany last week for them to put on display...it can't be driven, just can be drooled over. It's is a piece of engineering and art like I have never seen. If it drives 1/2 as good as it looks, it will be an awesome machine. It's probably as close to a Porsche daily driver as they have ever made. This one sticker'd for $71k as it was loaded with all of the toys so certainly it's quite a few notches above where the new TT will be so it's really a different market. But guys like me that think the shooting disk breakage is a comedy will certainly be in the P-store dreaming and figuring out the #'s on how to swing one. If the number of lookers that were there today is an early indication of how this car will do, Porsche has a hit on their hands although I suspect that they know this already.
Chicago peeps, check it out next week or today if you live close by...I'm not sure how long they will have it here. By the way, this dealer is just 150 yards south from their sister store, The Audi Exchange, which is at the intersection of 41 and 22.
