Default I have seen heaven...and it ain't the freakin' shooting disk breakage.

The Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, Illinois on Highway 41 has a Cayman S that the factory flew in from Germany last week for them to put on display...it can't be driven, just can be drooled over. It's is a piece of engineering and art like I have never seen. If it drives 1/2 as good as it looks, it will be an awesome machine. It's probably as close to a Porsche daily driver as they have ever made. This one sticker'd for $71k as it was loaded with all of the toys so certainly it's quite a few notches above where the new TT will be so it's really a different market. But guys like me that think the shooting disk breakage is a comedy will certainly be in the P-store dreaming and figuring out the #'s on how to swing one. If the number of lookers that were there today is an early indication of how this car will do, Porsche has a hit on their hands although I suspect that they know this already.

Chicago peeps, check it out next week or today if you live close by...I'm not sure how long they will have it here. By the way, this dealer is just 150 yards south from their sister store, The Audi Exchange, which is at the intersection of 41 and 22.

Default agreed... in 4 years 4 months

when the TT is paid off, it becomes my "winter" car. I'm hoping that pre-owned Caymans are affordable....

Default Same here - our Audi/Porsche dealer has a factory supplied "club car" on display

and it looks great. It's a metallic black Cayman that is already sold and is to be displayed in the showroom and at the upcoming Indpls car show in a month. They don't expect to get any more in stock until late January. It's a very nice looking car, a great upgrade path from the TT coupe.

My guess is that less than 10% of the droolers could afford one anyway, so maybe not. ;^)

Go take a look at TopGear's assessment. They think it's rubbish.
