Default HELP - 03 CanBus aftermarket HU install gone sideways - wiring appears to be much different...

Here's a pic of the back of the Concert II. I'm using the same Metra Harness as everyone else - including MarTT. However, it appears I don't get illumination power or ignition power in the small 8pin connector. When I plug in the Headunit - I get power but it does'nt light up or "turn on" so to speak. Also - the radio itself shows 6 pin outs for the line outs - but the actual plug in the car only has 4 - not sure why that is.

Default The lineout uses a common ground >>

so on the metra harness that connects to the lineout portion of the car connector, there should be a black wire that needs to be connected to ground...

My Alpine HU harness did not have a wire for illumination (therefore it does not dim).

Default What about the 12V switched and illumination? Where did or do you source that?

That is what appears to be my problem.

Joe, Don't you want to leave your radio on and drain the battery? ;-P

Default Yeah - I tapped a switched fuse to see if it would work and it did but no sound is coming out

i've tried multiple combinations of the lineouts using the metra harness. What I don't understand is that this is the one thing that SHOULD be the same between the old and the new concerts.

Default Ha ha...That happened to me the first go-round...>

Make sure you hook up the Bose Amp power lead pin to a switched source. Probably the pin marked "Bose" and a lead off your head unit for amp power.

Default Line outs are only for the audio signal...>

You must power the amp as well. Mine was done through the Metra harness (Remote amp switch on as seen here)
