Couple of questions for Radio guys and Schwing....Looking to get the Kenwood kvt 815 so if you have
one I would like to know what you think of the kenwood 715 or 815. Schwing I saw that post you had on the harness that will let you connect a head unit through the bose amp and such...Do you think this will work with the Kenwood kvt 815 and still sound good like the stock Bose unit I have..Didnt know if that harness would accomplish this..Those who have it list pros and cons for me please

Interfacing the HU wiring to the car without cutting anything so there's no reason it wouldn't work. With Video there may be some more connections that you'll have to sleuth out though. My Kenwood is an Excellon series, so it sould be similar. Much improved over the stock HU, even with the Bose amps and speakers being used..

If you are not using XM or the 12pin din connection for a cd changer, you can directly plug into the back of the HU...Otherwise, you will need to buy the kenwood interface extension, which is like 75$ and that will allow ALL of the devices to connect to the HU to be managed.

Just a note on the Metra Harnesses (there are two that come with the kit) for Concert II (CD),
The Concert II CD does not have an illumination (orange/white wire) or switched 12V (red wire) so the one smaller 8 pin connector only uses the yellow and black wires. You need to find a switched source for aftermarket headunit. Also if your aftermarket headunit has an illumination feature (dims) you have have to find a source for that as well. I spliced into my boost gauge feed which is tapped into the light switch. I also tapped into my hardwire for the radar detector for the switched 12V.
