Default Does this help or hurt the value of my car? Personal Opinions Welcomed

in your own opinion a TT with a brand new tranny and clutch holds a better value or worse value to one with original components.. this is a funny situation because when i sold my last GTI golf, it had a brand new engine in it with like 2,000 miles and the kid complained it shouldnt be worth as much, and i begged to differ. Sooo, in my TT's case since it does have a brand new Tranny, clutch, pressure plate, and linkage would it be worth a few more bucks or a few less? thanks...

Default its entirely up to the buyer...

a tranny and clutch replacement could be indicative of a problematic car. On the other hand, having fresh components is usually a good thing. It just depends on how the buyer views it.

All costs aside, it was like $8,500 in total parts... that are new..

Default It would generally be worth less to me...>

As it "could" be an indicator of how hard the car was driven/abused or not maintained to cause failures of major components that "usually" last the life of the vehicle.

Only matters if you are thinking of selling.....So are you saying it matters for you?

Default is it wrong to not tell someone that the factory replaced a few parts... because

it shifted shatty when i first purchased it in 2003.. i told dealer and they claimed it was perfectly fine. always popped in and out of 1st when semi cold and didnt do well at all going into second gear... finally they took notice and before it was taken care of it locked up. i know i didnt beat it that bad, and the man that owned it before me was 86.. have all records and he was as far as i know a very good car owner.. thats not a car fax show up right? is that regular maintance? lol

Default well, not sure yet.if it was on ebay what would you ask for it based on mods and 69,000 miles-->

paint is perfect, interior is mint and motor runs strong... thousands invested, would put fresh treads on it.. for once i actually owe less than its worth, guess that 1.9 rate is actually paying off.. If i do decide to keep it, i plan to pay double from march till march 2007 to pay it off. What would you do.. Im getting very stressed being at school and having to pay on it every month...

Default Up to buyer and depends upon how you market it.

If it were mine I would market the new parts as a positive extra. Dealer would not listen to complaints about strange operation until repairs were necessary, now car has new transmission and clutch and all is in order.

Mods and how you sell them also will depend upon what the buyer wants. Show your service records to demonstrate your care of the vehicle.
