1source auto warranty out of business?
Just an FYI for anyone who has 1source or is looking to purchase extended warranty... my husband posted the below on VW Vortex...
We are at 49985 and it's due to snow here tomorrow. We haven't driven the Toureg for a while but given the weather I started shopping seriously for an extended warranty. My wife and I normally commute by motorcycles.
Online quotes showed a preference for 1sourceautowarranty. Good pricing and covers most of what I wanted.
Tried to reach them on Fri Dec 2nd. Yesterday 5th and today Dec 6th. Rolls to voicemail saying I've called outside of business hours (during mid-morning and mid-day) with no return calls at my request.
Just spoke to our second choice; WarrantyDirect -our second choice only because of their pricing relative to coverage. It was roughly similar coverage but 1source was several hundred dollars cheaper.
WarrantyDirect has been receiving calls from customers who were unable to make claims or get quotes from 1source and believe they are out of business.

upfront... The policy was underwritten by an insurance company, will have to dig up the paperwork..
and see who that carrier was... I would think that the underwritter would have to assume the contract if indeed the front company folded...
