Remember the Audi Steppenwolf Concept?
I would have bought one if Audi had produced it. Perfect for taking my Borzoi to the dog park. I really liked the pull out spare tire tray too.
Audi should have kept Freman Thomas on the payroll. The Shooting Brake concept for Tokyo cannot hold a candle to the good designs Audi produced in the past. And that includes the original TT design, plus any of the new designs with the shield front end...

The only thing coming close is the supposed Audi Q5

However, I forgot that there have also been rumors on a Q3 based on the A3...

The leather in the concept was 1 cm thick shoe leather...
but that probably would not have made it into production. It might have been durable enough.
Our present cars have leather. The RAV 4 has an LL Bean dog seat cover on the rear seat. When I take my Borzoi in the TT, I put a 4x6 thick cotton rug on the passenger seat and key off the air bag on the passenger side. Or she can go into the rear seat, also after it has been covered with thick cotton rugs. She rides well so there has never been a problem with the leather in either vehicle.
