Default Maybe...

but another way is to go on the highway and drive at about 65 mph and have a cough and sneezing attack. If you have the original 2000 TT control arms without the recall mod, then your TT will change a full lane as you cough and sneeze.

If you have the mod, the steering is slower, and you only change about 1/4 of a lane... ;-)

Default As always, thanks guys. need to find out if that recall had been done on my car

since it makes me wonder if the previous owner skip the spoiler or just did not do the recall. I know the MK1 arms are better and I also like the car 'unspoiled'..Im just curious.

The recall did not require spoiler installation. It was also done for just suspension.

Default Dealer said I need the spoiler

He checked my VIN and said that for my car no work needs to be done with my suspension. However, he gave me a choice if I wanted the spoiler. Im confused.

Default Two separate voluntary "recalls" - one for suspension mods and one to add the spoiler....

two different recall codes. Some opted for both some opted to do just one or the other. You don't HAVE to do either one. They are voluntary.

Default I didn't opt for the spoiler...>>

There were several high speed wreaks in europe caused by lift off oversteer (where the rear wheels loose traction as weight moves foward).

Audi issues a recall replaceing the front control arms, changing the alignment specs and adding a spoiler.

We never had this problem but starting in April of 2000 all cars entering the country received the recall. The existing cars could have any or part of the recall. Some just added the spoiler and other dod both. I chose not to do any.

Later on, Audi had a program that for around $550, they would ship you car to Texas and have ESP installed. Only problem, if you didn't have the recall, Audi would do it there. So again , I said no!

There was another recall for the 180 quattro that replaced the rear control arms because of rust. However, this had no effect on the drivablilty.

Hope this helps.
