Being my own diagnostician (sp?)
Not sure if that's a real word.
Got my car back from my mechanic yesterday after serpentine belt broke and everything feels great. However, tonight I started her up and the CEL came on. Drove around for a bit and didn't notice any symptoms.
My dillema is that there are no Audi dealerships where I live but we do have a VW one. Can my regular mechanic use a standard OBD-II interface to diagnose the problem? If not then maybe I should invest in a VAG-COM. Saving a trip to the dealership would pay for itself. Is there any reason I would need the more expensive HEX interface for an '01?
