Never on Monday or Friday, the techs are hung-over or ready to leave. Mid-week then is best.

Default Nope, and it's not guesswork. Change it at 60K or...>>>

Gamble big time on a $4K repair if it breaks...

I would reccommend getting it done before the warranty runs out. Mine went at approx. 32K. The bill was written up as normal even though it was covered under warranty so I had a chance to see what it would have cost me. I think it was around $4,680 which included the A/C compressor which siezed up on the test drive after they fixed the belt. There is no advantage to waiting until 60K, it's just not worth the risk. By the way, I was doing under the speed limit in a 25MPH zone when it broke.

Default Steve, my 02 only has about 22K miles

should I change it in the next 12 months or so? I don't expect to have more than another 10,000 miles. (And that is if I go to the TT West this year in Durango!!)

Default Well, even if it's under warranty, Audi's not gonna pay for a replacement just for the heck of it...

I think the book says 105k for replacement, so Audi will not pay for a replacement if it's not broken.
