Default 3-bar grille installed this weekend

I was doing an oil change this weekend and since I was in there I decided I'd install a new 3-bar grille

Followed several excellent write-ups on the board for how to get the bumper off and how to get the grille out. Thanks again!

So, you can't remove the OEM grille without destroying it??

Default It may be possible but I was running out of patience.

The tabs that hold the grille in place are brittle and it doesn't take much to snap them off. It's such a tight fit in there that I was worried about cracking the paint on the bumper or the bumper itself while getting the old grille out. Of course it is possible to get the new one in without breaking any tabs so the old one has to be removable without destroying it.
Also, I think if you're really willing to destroy the original grille that you could do this install with the bumper on. You'd have to completely cut up the stock grille with something and take it out in pieces and then pop the new one in.

Thanks! I like it, pretty minimal change but it'll at least be easier to clean

Well, it's not nearly as bad as the door handle install was
